Just a few months ago, HTC One M9 owners reported overheating issues caused by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. However, recently, Sony Xperia Z4 users started reporting overheating issues caused by the Snapdragon 810 processors. Some users are reporting that their device is hitting 60-68 degrees celsius, and that’s indeed pretty high.
For those who don’t know, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor has some overheating issues. Some companies reportedly passed the Snapdragon 810 for their flagship devices, including Samsung and LG. According to recent reports, the Lumia 940 XL from Microsoft is expected to pack the Snapdragon 810 as well. If Qualcomm doesn’t fix the overheating issues, Microsoft may also face complaints from users. It’s worth noting that Qualcomm recently launched the Snapdragon 810 2.1 which apparently fixes the overheating issues.
It’ll be very interesting to see if Microsoft decides to go with the Snapdragon 810 for its upcoming flagship Windows Phone.
